Brandon’s long time interest in plants turned into a passion for Landscape Architecture, and he earned his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. While in school, a series of trips to Santa Barbara’s orchid houses stimulated an interest in subtropical and tropical flora.
After graduation, he relocated to Miami, Florida to work on subtropical and tropical residential, commercial, and resort gardens throughout Florida and the Caribbean, ultimately returning to California to join Ground Studio in 2018.
He is a self-described plant nerd, interested in the cultural and native use of plants through garden spaces and food. He believes that good garden design is inherently linked to an understanding of plants and their many characteristics.
