Payam joined Ground Studio in 2018 after over a decade of design leadership on the East Coast. Throughout his career, he has designed multiple award-winning public and private landscapes both in the U.S. and abroad.

Since joining Ground Studio he has been involved in a number of the studio’s largest projects in The Carmel Valley and in the San Francisco Bay Area. He continues to apply his passion for the arts and sciences into his practice, finding intuitive design solutions within multiple scales and cultural contexts.

Payam is a licensed Landscape Architect (PLA) and holds a Master’s Degree (MLA) from the University of Virginia School of Architecture.   An experienced studio critic, he has taught general landscape architecture courses as well as studio, and has served briefly as appointed member of the Urban Design and Architecture Advisory Panel (UDAAP) for the city of Baltimore.
